Boingo Wireless Relocates HQ Creating 250 Jobs in Frisco

Boingo Wireless is relocating HQ to Frisco, creating 247 jobs and a potential $1.48 million investment. A leading provider of DAS, Wi-Fi and private networks according to a Local Profile article. They say,

“A global provider of wireless solutions will soon bring 247 new jobs and the possibility of generating approximately $1.48 million in capital investment to Frisco. 

“Expanding our presence in Texas is a strategic move for Boingo,” said Boingo Wireless CEO Mike Finley in a press release. 

Boingo Wireless is a leading connectivity provider of distributed antenna systems (DAS), Wi-Fi and private networks. The company provides fast, secure, 5G-enabled wireless solutions to airports, healthcare facilities, sports and entertainment arenas, military bases and government offices across Texas and around the world.”

The location was chosen for its desirable living area, engineering talent pool, and proximity to existing customers. The company will retain regional hubs in other cities according to a Dallas Morning News article which say,

““Boingo’s new office location in Frisco will bring more good-paying jobs and brighter opportunities for hardworking Texans in our state’s growing tech industry,” Abbott said in an announcement. 

Boingo CEO Mike Finley said the company wanted a location where employees would want to live, where there was an engineering talent pool to draw from and that was close to existing customers. Boingo will maintain regional hubs in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Las Vegas. 

“It was really very easy to select Frisco because it met all the criteria, and we work with a lot of companies there,” said Finley, who will also move from Los Angeles to Frisco.”

The relocation of Boingo to Frisco is a major win for economic development and a boost for the city’s position as a leader in 5G technology. In August, Boingo plans to expand connectivity at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls.
