Corner Bakery Stops its Services

Dallas lost another restaurant as Corner Bakery Cafe closed down its business and the reason for its closure is because of an internal conflict with the landlord according to a Dallas Morning News article from March 16. They say,

“Corner Bakery Cafe in Dallas’ Plaza at Preston Center is closed after the landlord posted a lockout notice on March 14, 2022.

The restaurant is located at 8420 Preston Center Plaza, at the southeast corner of Preston Road and Northwest Highway in Dallas. It opened in 1998 and would have been in business at that intersection for 25 years this summer.

The sign says the landlord changed the locks on the restaurant and that if the tenant enters the building, it will be considered trespassing.

“Corner Bakery loves the location and appreciates the loyal customers who have continued supporting them,” the representative wrote.”

This is especially heartbreaking because just last month, Corner Bakery took part in the Mardi Gras restaurant event as they featured a new vegetarian dish according to a CultureMap Dallas article from March 2 which reports,

Corner Bakery has new vegetarian dishes they’re featuring including Tuscan Grilled Cheese with Provolone, basil, spinach, roasted tomato, and pesto aioli on grilled sourdough; plus Avocado + Spinach breakfast wraps with scrambled eggs, avocado, cheddar, and spinach in a tomato basil tortilla with green chile salsa.”

While it is yet to be confirmed whether the closure is already final, Corner Bakery Cafe maintains that it was a sudden closure due to the landlord’s decision. However, Corner Bakery Cafe is already working to re-open their restaurant to the public once again.
