The University of North Texas opens its new campus in Frisco to attract more students in the area and more companies to the city according to a Dallas Morning News article. They say,
“The University of North Texas is deepening its roots in Frisco with a brand new campus that aims to increase opportunities for area students and attract more companies to the city.
The university “is going to be dynamite for this city,” UNT President Neal Smatresk said.
Frisco Landing, UNT’s first permanent building for its branch campus in Collin County, is expected to open in January as the spring semester starts. Since 2016, the university previously held classes in rented spaces throughout the city.”
UNT has announced that it’s opening its first permanent building on campus, Frisco Landing, in January 2023 according to a Local Profile article. They say,
“The University of North Texas (UNT) at Frisco has announced that it will open its first-ever permanent building on campus, Frisco Landing, on January 17, 2023.
Frisco Landing, which cost around $100 million to build, is a building that UNT at Frisco says was designed to promote collaboration, transparency and open communication between faculty members and students.
The four-story building will feature a multitude of classrooms that can hold between 20 to 160 students at a time.
In addition, the new 100,000-square-foot building will also offer numerous study spaces, along with 69 huddle rooms that will enable small-to-medium sized groups to collaborate together.”
UNT expects 2,300 students to attend the Frisco university in the upcoming spring semester in 2023.
