Cane Rosso’s new location

Dallas-born Cane Rosso—known for being the first pizzeria to feature Neapolitan-style—is opening a new location in Dallas according to a Dallas Morning News article from June 15 which reports,

“Neapolitan pizza restaurant Cane Rosso has opened at Hillcrest Village, the resurrected shopping center near Hillcrest and Arapaho roads in Far North Dallas.

Cane Rosso was born in Deep Ellum and has expanded to seven locations across Dallas-Fort Worth. It was one of the first Dallas restaurants slinging Neapolitan-style pizzas, which are known for their blistered crust, cooked hot and fast in 900-degree ovens.

One of the reasons owner Jay Jerrier opened Cane Rosso in Hillcrest Village was because of the 1.5-acre park in its front yard. That park runs in the middle of a row of restaurants on either side — a happy change from the drab shopping center this once was.

Jerrier expects to feed customers from Richardson, North Dallas, Addison and southern parts of Plano at this new restaurant.”

According to a CultureMap Dallas article, the new location will feature the same key food items but there will be new additions as well. They say,

Menu items include basics like the Margherita pizza with San Marzano tomatoes and mozzarella made in-house daily, and the Honey Bastard pizza, a once off-menu specialty pizza with mozzarella, hot soppressata, bacon  marmalade, and a habanero-infused honey drizzle at the end.

New menu items for the North Dallas location include one new pizza and two new pastas:

  • Straight Fire pizza, a previous pizza of the month with mozzarella, Calabrian chile béchamel, hot soppressata, mushrooms, and fresh jalapeños
  • Cavateppi Vesuvio, with sausage, peppers, red pepper pesto, kale, sugo, and parmesan cheese
  • Ziti Alla Bolognese, with brisket bolognese, ricotta, and parmesan cheese

There are also appetizers, salads, and desserts.”

As of the moment, Cane Rosso will be entertaining guests and customers only for dinner on weekdays and full days on weekends. However, they will eventually proceed with their full blast operations in the next few weeks.
