DFW-Area Couple Brings 16 Handles Froyo Chain

16 Handles, the NYC-based frozen yogurt shop, plans to open six Texas stores this spring, including Houston, Dallas, and Austin areas, according to a Community Impact article. They say, 

“New York City-based 16 Handles, a self-serve frozen yogurt shop, is launching six new stores in Texas this spring, expanding its nationwide footprint, according to a Dec. 18 news release.

The new shops will be opening in the Houston, Dallas and Austin areas this spring with additional Texas shops under development, according to the release. The Texas locations will feature between 1,500 to 2,500 square feet, and includes ample space for comfortable lounge-style seating. The 16 Handles menu offers 16 soft serve flavors; over 50 toppings and sauces; and a variety of frozen novelties, including cakes, cookie dough and take-home pints.”

With 30 stores since 2008, 16 Handles, known for frozen yogurt, is excited to expand in Texas, partnering with local business owners, according to a Dallas Express article which reports,

“Founded in 2008 in Manhattan, 16 Handles operates 30 stores. In addition to frozen yogurt, its menu includes ice cream, drinks, and vegan soft serve.

“We are eager to go big in Texas, and I’m ecstatic that we have had the opportunity to team up with experienced local business owners who are passionate about bringing the best dessert to their communities,” CEO Neil Hershman said in the release. “16 Handles is focused on scaling at the right time in the right way and bringing a lot of excitement around frozen yogurt and soft serve.””

Franchise owner Myles Abshire expresses excitement about opening the Missouri City 16 Handles, aiming to connect with the community in spring 2024.
