Jake’s Burgers Branch in Uptown Dallas Closed

Jake’s in Uptown Dallas closed down because a high-rise will be built in the land it’s located according to a The Dallas Morning News article. They say,

“After 18 years, Jake’s Burgers & Beer on McKinney Avenue in Uptown Dallas has closed. It was one of the most profitable and most iconic Jake’s restaurants in North Texas, says Kendra Shier, vice president of operations and marketing.

The 1.14-acre plot of land where Jake’s resided will be turned into a 19-story tower with nearly 300 residences and 60,000 square feet of office space. “It wasn’t our choice to leave,” reads part of the note posted on the door.”

Their new location will be built in Addison in September according to a post they have made in their Facebook page. They say,

“Yes, it’s true that our Uptown location will shutter this Sunday after lunch because the landlord is building a new high rise in our spot  – but we are opening our new location in Addison in September and WE WILL BE BACK in Uptown soon!! Thank you for 18 Amazing years – we love you all!!”

Information on the menu, their locations, and more can be found on their website.
