Smoky Rose Expands to Former Dallas Eagle

After successfully establishing Smoky Rose, David Cash and his team are opening Cantina la Rosa, a nostalgic Mexican restaurant serving authentic cuisine, according to a Dallas Morning News article which says,

“Seven years after David Cash opened the sprawling patio bar Smoky Rose near the Dallas Arboretum, he’s partnering with his brother and two restaurant workers to open a hacienda with similar DNA.

Cantina la Rosa will be a retro-themed Mexican restaurant focused on the food that Rolando Garcia and Oscar Aroche grew up eating in Mexico.

“We want to make you feel like you’re in Mexico City or San Miguel de Allende,” says Aroche. He and Garcia are partners at Cantina la Rosa. Both work at Smoky Rose as general manager and executive chef, respectively.”

Cantina la Rosa serves up a mouthwatering menu of Tex-Mex and barbecue-inspired dishes, from starters to smoked specialties and tempting desserts. These include:

Starters

  • Brisket Queso
  • Chips & Salsa
  • Smoked Jalapeno Poppers

Soup & Salads

  • Grilled Caesar
  • Lizzy’s Salad
  • Spinach Salad

‘Wiches

  • The Smoky Rose Wagyu Cheeseburger
  • Turkey BLT

Cantina la Rosa, a casual restaurant with good food, will open in Dallas at 5740 Maple Ave. in spring or summer 2024, according to David Cash, the owner.
